Fourth Major Award Win for Extraprise Client

Media Contact:
Lou Orfanos, Extraprise

London - 20th March, 2002 - Extraprise, the technology consulting company specialising in Customer Relationship Management, today announced that www.dulux.co.uk, the consumer website it designed for ICI Paints, has been awarded the "Best Consumer Marketing Award" at the 2002 Revolution Awards. The site beat off stiff competition from the likes of Guinness, Expedia and the AA, and was also a finalist in the "Most Innovative Online Business" category. The award adds to the incredible success of www.dulux.co.uk, which has already won three major industry awards.

"Since first working with ICI Paints four years ago, our relationship has gone from strength to strength. This www.dulux.co.uk award is another demonstration of ICI's determination to push back the boundaries, and of our ability to help them innovate and succeed," said Jean-Benoit Berty, Vice President, General Business, Extraprise. "ICI Paints' belief in placing customers at the heart of the business is as whole-hearted as our own. And look how it's paid off!"

www.dulux.co.uk, launched in April 2001, includes the first colour visualisation tool in Europe, MousePainter™, allowing consumers to decorate a selection of virtual rooms in their choice of colours from the Dulux range. The site allows ICI Paints to enhance its Dulux brand and to build closer relationships with consumers - traditionally very difficult when a product is sold through retailers.

The site attracts more than 47,000 visitors a month and a recent e-mail campaign delivered a staggering 20% response rate.  www.dulux.co.uk has now won a number of other high-profile awards, from technology to consumer marketing:

  • CRM Innovation of the Year (Business Intelligence/CRM Magazine)
  • Best Business Use of New Technology (Internet Business Magazine)
  • Best Consumer Marketing (Revolution)
  • Most Useful Internet Website (Your Home Magazine Awards)

The Most Useful Internet Website win two weeks ago was particularly pleasing as it was voted for by consumers, not industry experts. Your Home Magazine presented awards in 14 categories, where it recognised products and services innovation, style, quality and value for money across the entire homes market. www.dulux.co.uk was a finalist along with the Argos and British Gas websites.

This Best Consumer Marketing category rewarded the best uses of interactive media (such as the Internet) to promote brands, products and services to consumers, for example building loyalty or brand values. The "Most Innovative Online Business" category looked for companies that have best used the unique capabilities of the Internet to create an innovative product or service that is not possible using other business channels.

The awards, in their fifth year, took place on Friday, 15th March at Le Méridien Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
