A Senior Consultant works with clients to identify opportunities to solve business problems through the use of software technologies. The position focuses on problems whose solutions are based on rapid deployment of software applications, which have a high return on investment. The Senior Consultant drives solutions by defining architectures, assessing technology alternatives, and by designing, developing and deploying software applications.
Senior Consultants typically spend 20% of their time consulting to clients proposing solutions, leading projects, and supporting business development activities. This includes facilitating working sessions to define requirements, business processes, and functional and technical designs. Additionally, Senior Consultants assist with determining project scope and approaches in responding to client and prospect needs. Senior Consultants participate in the presentation of proposals and statements of work.
Senior Consultants spend 80% of their time completing technical designs including feasibility analysis, developing applications, and deploying software solutions for clients. Senior Consultants recommend best practice approaches to application design and development based on requirements. Additionally, Senior Consultants lead and mentor junior staff in proper development techniques and to ensure timely completion of work tasks.
Senior Consultants are client facing and are considered lead personnel on projects. Their attendance in relevant client status, working sessions, and design meetings are manatory and require extensive participation.
This position requires approximately 80% regional travel within a 3-4-5 model (3 nights away, 4 full days on-site at the client, 5 day working at home or Extraprise office).
Mandatory Skills and Experience

At least 5-7 years of consulting, technical sales support, client management, or other onsite customer experience related to software technology

At least 4-5 years experience implementing business applications software from vendors like Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP, Siebel, Vantive, Clarify or similar mainstream vendors

At least 3 or more years of project management and technical leadership experience

Excellent interpersonal communications and technical writing skills

A Bachelor's degree

Recent experience developing database applications using Oracle, Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, or other data management solutions
