Extraprise Selects webMethods as Strategic SOA Software Partner

Media Contact:
Lou Orfanos, Extraprise

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2006--Extraprise(R), the only hybrid database marketing provider and systems integrator, today announced that it has selected the webMethods Fabric(TM) product suite as the foundation for future releases of Insight-to-Interaction(TM) (i2i), the company's on-demand database marketing platform. Extraprise is adopting webMethods' (NASDAQ:WEBM) flagship product suite to accelerate its shift to a service-oriented architecture (SOA) as the basis for these operations. With this approach, Extraprise expects to onboard clients more rapidly and easily, integrate it service more effectively and completely with third-party applications from partners like Siebel and salesforce.com, and significantly expand the scope of other outsourced services it can support.

"As one of the last remaining information silos in the corporate world, the database marketing sector has a number of significant technology challenges to overcome," said Ken Marshall, president and CEO, Extraprise. "Our investment and commitment to SOA is designed to address these concerns, helping customers more readily link their various customer and campaign management resources into a more cohesive whole. Through this process, we can also ensure that our Insight-to-Interaction platform fits seamlessly into our clients' operational infrastructure, which will further speed time-to-benefit."

webMethods Fabric is a proven product suite for integrating disparate systems and trading partner networks, managing complex business processes and proactively monitoring service levels from both an IT and business perspective. With its comprehensive support for the end-to-end service lifecycle, Extraprise is using it to transform existing application functionality into reusable Web services that can be more easily implemented and managed across multiple customer engagements.

"webMethods is excited to be partnering with Extraprise on the next stage evolution of their Insight-to-Interaction platform," said Deborah Rosen, executive vice president, worldwide marketing, webMethods, Inc. "By enacting a service-oriented architecture as the foundation for Software-as-a-Service delivery, Extraprise is able to increase the speed and flexibility in which it deploys additional functionality. The end result for the customer is an enhanced ability to integrate their field operations with real-time opportunity."

Extraprise selected webMethods after an extensive evaluation of more than twenty SOA development, operations, and management technologies. Extraprise chose the software because it offered an integrated service environment, spanning business integration and service enablement through orchestration, governance, and composite application development, in conjunction with demonstrated scalability and reliability. As Extraprise hosts a wide variety of sensitive customer data for its clients, security was an equally important factor. In support of these requirements, the webMethods Fabric product suite offers Common Criteria certification, which is a globally recognized ISO standard 15408 that is employed by the U.S. government and 22 other nations as a definitive standard for assessing the security features and capabilities of information technology products employed within secure implementations.

William Blundon, Extraprise's Executive Vice President of Product Development and Support added, "We have been extremely impressed with webMethods' ability to fully integrate and unify our internal applications. This will allow us to deliver an even more powerful solution to the 'last mile problem' that plagues database marketing: getting leads and insight into the hands of the employees who can use them to grow revenue and improve customer satisfaction."

The i2i platform is a unique approach for helping companies better manage customer data, develop more relevant and timely insight, and increase the value of each customer interaction. The i2i platform provides clients with dedicated resources for consolidating multiple customer data sources, creating better customer segmentation, developing predictive models, managing demand generation campaigns, and automating their operational systems spanning multiple customer channels.
