Lynda M. Applegate is the Henry R. Byers Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, teaching courses in entrepreneurial management and technology and innovation, and serving as head of the school's Field-Based Learning programs. Lynda currently chairs HBS' Owner-Managed Executive Programs, which includes the Owner-President comprehensive and key executive programs and the Building New Ventures, Building Ventures in Latin America, and Entrepreneur's Toolkit focused programs. Between 1995 and 2003, she served as co-chair of the Harvard Policy Group on Networked Government Services and she also served on the Harvard University Technology Advisory Council. Prior to joining the HBS faculty, Lynda was on the faculty of the University of Michigan, University of Washington and University of Arizona. In addition to her academic positions, Lynda worked at Ford Motor Company in the 1960s and held management positions in the health care industry during the 1970s.
Lynda is an active international consultant and has served on the board of directors of both public and venture-backed companies. She is an advisor and advisory board member for senior executives launching new business initiatives in established companies and for entrepreneurs launching independent ventures. In addition, she is on the board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Technology Council, served as a member of the Technology Advisory Board for NASDAQ, and was an advisor on the launch of the World Bank's Global Development Gateway. She also served as a policy advisor on business and technology to the Comptroller General of the U.S., participated on a Blue-Ribbon Panel to define a National Research Agenda on the development of the Network Economy, and was a member of an advisory roundtable to President Clinton's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection.
Tobey Choate is a seasoned executive in marketing services and other services businesses with over 25 years P+L management and advisory experience. He offers hands-on management consulting services to primarily marketing services companies facing the challenges typical of companies striving to grow revenue and profits from either existing or new products and services.
Tobey has recently served as: a strategic advisor and corporate development executive focused on go-to-market strategy and new accounts for Customer Portfolios, a rapidly growing marketing services company looking for longer term strategic sale; a strategic advisor focusing on scaling activities, executive and staff recruitment and investor identification for LeapFrogRx, a vertically focused marketing services company building critical mass before strategic investment; a strategic advisor and VP of Corporate Development and Professional Services for Corporate Technologies Inc, a systems integrator and reseller looking to position for acquisition; a strategic advisor and corporate development executive for go-to-market strategy and special accounts for College Coach, a venture backed service company looking to expand before acquisition.
Tobey has also served as Chief Operating Officer of DiaLogos, a marketing services consulting firm; EVP, Corporate Development for Hill/Holliday, advertising and marketing services firm; Managing Director of Arthur D. Little, an international management consulting firm.
Frank is the founder and principal of Growth Ally, LLC where he works as an advisor to entrepreneurs at emerging high tech companies. He currently serves as a management coach and advisor at iRobot Corporation (consumer and military robotics), and serves as a board member at Meridio Corporation (compliance infrastructure), Convoq Corporation (instant messaging applications), and Metamatrix Corporation (metadata management and applications integration). Frank was also the CEO and Chairman of Shiva Corporation, a pioneer in the remote access market, taking the company public in 1994. The company was eventually sold to Intel Corporation.
Frank was also founder and Chairman of Wheelhouse Corporation, an early ASP in the marketing technology arena. Previously he served as VP and GM of the spreadsheet division at Lotus Development Corporation, and as SVP at Atex Inc., a division of Kodak. He has a broad range of Board experience including public companies such as Powersoft and Sybase as well as private, venture-backed start-ups. Franki graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University.
Yury brings Extraprise more than ten years of venture capital expertise and over 30 years of entrepreneurial, professional and managerial experience in all aspects of information technology. He was most recently Chief Strategy Officer at ETF Group, a Swiss-based venture capital firm with offices in the U.S., U.K., France, Italy, Germany and Australia. European Technology Forum named ETF Group the "Venture Capitalist of the Year" (2000). Prior to that, he was the founder and CEO of The Fantastic Corporation CEE (Central Eastern Europe), a joint venture with The Fantastic Corporation AG. He contributed to a successful IPO of the Fantastic at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Prior to that, he was CEO and major shareholder of APP Group, the second largest systems integrator in Central Eastern Europe and the first SAP System House outside of Germany. He sold APP Group to Warburg Pincus Ventures. Mr. Parad also served in a number of senior management positions at Oracle Corporation in the United States and Europe, including Managing Director of Oracle Central Eastern Europe.
